Bob came from upstate Troy, New York. He majored in history and philosophy at West Virginia Wesleyan College then majored in theology at Yale Divinity School. While in college and seminary, he worked small churches to support his young family. He did graduate work in intellectual history at Temple University and in theology at Drew University. He was ordained in the New York Conference of the United Methodist Church. In 2006, he retired and a year later, discovered the TCUUC, where started the book club. In 2008, he began seven years of part-time ministry at the TCUUC then retired again and moved to Asheville, NC. A year later, Bob and his wife returned to the area, and the TCUUC. 
Adventure Club
For the 2022 – 2023 year, The Adventure Club will piggy-back with the NEW St. Lucie Nature & Wildlife Digital Pass System described below. To participate, each person must individually register at the website highlighted below before we start the adventures. Bring your registration with you on each adventure and “check in” at each site, as described below. Note, you may come on the adventures without using the Digital Pass system.

Residents and visitors in St. Lucie County can now experience its natural beauty and native wildlife in a new way by accessing the free Nature & Wildlife Digital Pass. Users can simply scan the QR code or access the pass online to create and access their own free digital passport for self-guided exploration. Nine locations allow passholders to digitally check in to each nature-based adventure and education location. Once passholders have checked into five locations, they will receive an official passholder decal. Once a passholder has checked into every location and completed the pass, they will receive an eco-friendly completion prize.
Passholders who complete the trail by March 27, 2023, will be entered to win the Ultimate Eco-Giveaway – an Eno hammock, two vouchers for a local wildlife boat tour, two vouchers for a guided kayak tour through the mangroves and a one-night stay at local accommodations
All of these activities involved walking. Some trails may not be suitable for wheelchairs or walkers (check the venues website for more details information). Wear good walking shoes & dress suitable to the weather the day of the activity. Each participant must pay the entrance fee (if any), and pay for their own lunch. Get the directions from the websites of each activity.
