Family Promise of Martin County held its third community wide meeting at the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Treasure Coast,. 21 SE Central Parkway, Stuart on Thursday, January 4, 2018
Members of the public interested in learning more about this initiative in Martin County gathered to learn about Family Promise’s holistic approach to helping families experiencing homelessness in our community.
Family Promise is a National Organization with over 207 Affiliates in 44 states. There are more than 6000 congregations and organizations , with 180,000 volunteers making up these Affiliates. And there are 11 Affiliates in the state of Florida. Additionally, there are 39 more Affiliates developing across the country.
The Family Promise Network Program brings shelter, meals, and support to families without homes.
Another Community wide meeting is planned for February 1st, 7:00 PM and will be held at the North Stuart Baptist Church located at 1950 NW Federal Highway. Once again the public is invited to attend.

Bob came from upstate Troy, New York. He majored in history and philosophy at West Virginia Wesleyan College then majored in theology at Yale Divinity School. While in college and seminary, he worked small churches to support his young family. He did graduate work in intellectual history at Temple University and in theology at Drew University. He was ordained in the New York Conference of the United Methodist Church. In 2006, he retired and a year later, discovered the TCUUC, where started the book club. In 2008, he began seven years of part-time ministry at the TCUUC then retired again and moved to Asheville, NC. A year later, Bob and his wife returned to the area, and the TCUUC.
